About

Design-Minded Engineering Leadership

My story is one of continuous learning and curiosity.

I started as a designer in 2010 and earned a BFA in New Media and Design from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. While design has always been my passion, I quickly fell in love with the idea of building products and solving problems through code.

I was fortunate enough to land at Red Ventures, where I worked alongside talented developers and designers to build websites for clients. Through various roles and projects (and managers that supported me), I grew out of my design roots and climbed the ranks through the engineering organization.

Having spent the majority of my career in enterprise software, I’ve delivered products end-to-end including concept, infrastructure, development, deployment, and ultimately to scale.

Bringing me to where I am today, leading engineering teams and building products that matter.

Engineering Philosophy

Core principles that guide how I architect systems, mentor engineers, and build AI agents:

  1. Integrity Code (and data) must maintain accuracy and consistency.
  2. Readability Ability to look at the code and understand it (and the cost) with minimal effort.
  3. Simplicity Any “might be used in the future” code is technical debt.
  4. Performance Premature micro optimizations are the root of all evil.

Current Focus

  • Exploring the production use of agentic workflows across the SDLC.
